Description Sultanbek Tezadov 2005-11-20 21:12:16 UTC
Version: 3.4.2 (using KDE 3.4.2 Level "b" , SUSE 10.0)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-15-default

I need gkrellm to be allways visible and stay docked at the right side of the desktop. I used to use the following trick in KDE 3.2:
- added a panel to embedd apps
- placed it on the right side
- made it 1% long
- placed gkrellm under it.
But this no lonager works in KDE 3.4 -- I can't place gkrellm under the panel.
Would be good to implement such feature some how.

this is a window manager issue. kicker already publishes the exact geometry it needs and no more.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Why don't you set the window to stay always on top or force its geometry in its window-specific settings?

This is how gkrellm appears if I set it to be on top of all windows. You can
see that it overlaps with other windows behind it.

This is what I need and how it used to work in KDE 3.2. Note that the panel
above gkrellm is panel to embedd apps. The panel's length is set to 2%.
