Kopete does not allow a user to add him or herself to their own buddy list. This is possible in the standard AIM client and in Gaim. It allows a user to check their away message, buddy info, online time, etc. and is used very often.

So what I forgot to say is that Kopete should allow this.

Not possible without some big overhaul inside the code. There are some technical difficulties.

Matt tells me this will be part of the KDE 4 changes.
