MSN-over-HTTP already exists in Kopete 0.11. The rest of the protocols won't get CONNECT-over-HTTP any time soon. I have been waiting for this feature from a long time and it is surprising to know it is not going to be in KDE 4 too. Using CONNECT for proxy is also not allowed at many firewalls, but it can be overcome by running local proxy server. This should be the least functionality kopete should have. Who said it won't be in KDE4? If you feel this is a really important feature for you, send me a patch with the feature. does kopete use kio_http ? If not, I assume doing so would fix this bug and also http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135331 ? Pls comment. Cheers, |
