Description Nathan Toone 2005-11-08 17:12:11 UTC
Version: 1.8.3 (using KDE 3.4.3, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.4 (Gentoo 3.4.4-r1, ssp-3.4.4-1.0, pie-8.7.8)
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.14-gentoo

I know this has been reported a couple of other bugs - but I'm not sure that I'm having the same problem.

I'm seeing a crash happen whenever I try to expire *any* folder (the other bugs were with specific folders) *if* kmail is currently downloading mail through pop.

I think it may have something to do with two different processess trying to update the progress bar? I have been able to reproduce it using the following steps:

Start KMail
Start a POP3 email download
While the download is happening, expire a folder
CRASH!

I don't have a version of KMail with debugging symbols enabled - so if you want to drop the priority on this one, that's fine with me (it's not too bad - because there is a workaround...just don't expire while email is downloading...)

I changed the title for better understanding - please tell me if I'm wrong

Thank you for your report. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained and the code has changed sufficiently in Kmail2 so the backtraces are not really useful anymore. Should you experience the same crash in Kmail 4.8.5 or later, please open a new report for Kmail2. Thank you for your understanding
