This got even worse in KDE4 since it does not work anymore for either konqueror's or dolphin's detail-view. In KDE 3 one was able to click next to the filename in order to select a file and not open it. Now, no matter whether one clicks on the actual object or some empty space next to it (in details view) the file is opened. According to Aaron it is possible to not have this regression. To quote him: the delegate can certain draw extra UI on/around the icon and click on those items can be used to launch/perform other actions. Yes, please make this happen. It's very convenient in KDE3 to be able to click next to the file name to select the file. in KDE4 I end up opening lots of files I only wanted to select. |
