Description Andrey Borzenkov 2005-10-28 18:30:12 UTC
Version: 1.8.92 (using KDE KDE 3.4.92)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

Mandriva cooker, local filesystem - reiserfs, two POP accouns with delivery in local folders, several folders with rules that sort incoming mail. In one folder (HAL list) I currently have a message, when I attempt to delete it, kmail hangs. Message itself is viewed normally, next one too - but when I press DEL I get sandglass and kontact consumes around 70% CPU. I start kontact, not kmail standalone. Kontact can be killed, but attaching with strace does not show anything (apparently it does not do any syscalls but just loops in user code).

I intentionally do not clean up this folder; I could send contents if requested (it is public list). Please let me know what information may be useful for debugging.

As this problem is already rather old, I'll close it for now.
(Hint: probably the folder index was corrupted)
If you still have the problem with the current KDE 4.3.1 version, please reopen.
