Description Tomás Cohen Arazi 2005-10-24 00:38:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

It would be usefull if the current user of a KDE desktop could lock an individual app from accepting input. This could complement the "lock screen" feature. As an example: I usually share my desktop with some friends so they can check their email and I would like to lock (e.g.) kopete or any other app.
I think It could be a usefull feature.

Why don't you open a new session for them?
Comment 2 Tomás Cohen Arazi 2005-10-24 03:17:03 UTC
Sometimes you don't have enough resources (e.g. memory), or you want someone to do something within your session (e.g. edit a file you've been workin on) and you don't want him to change your music, your desktop's appearance by mistake, etc.

I see only two ways:
1) You sit next to your friend and watch what they're doing -> you don't need this.
2) You don't do 1) -> they can run e.g. Konsole and do whatever they want with your account, including editing the config files or killing KWin, thus avoiding this useless protection.

I agree with you. I'll think about this a bit more. Thanks!
