Description Donatas Glodenis 2005-10-22 09:55:27 UTC
Version: 1.8.3 (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages
OS:                Linux

Whenever I get larger messages with attachments, my dimap folders fail to synchronize. I get the message:

===================
The program on your computer which provides access to the imaps://imap.evf.lt
protocol has unexpectedly terminated.

Unexpected Program Termination

Details of the request:
URL: (unknown)
Date and time: 2005 m. spalis 22 d., šeštadienis 10:23
Additional information: imaps://imap.evf.lt

Possible causes
This is most likely to be caused by a bug in the program. Please consider submitting a full bug report as detailed below.
==========================

All I can do then is find a message or messages that is causing the problem through a web interface, delete it and then I get the sync working again. Sometimes it does get large attachment messages, but does that very slowly - much slover than it should. I can sync individual folders that do not contain large messages all the time, though.

I get the problem with IMAP programs on two servers, one linux and one openbsd servers. The third account I have is on MS Exchange server, and this one doesn't manifest the problem.

However, I have no idea what imap programs those two servers use. If someone tells me, how to check that, I will gladly provide the details (on one of those I have an ssh account, but not on the other).

This problem is not new - I had it since I began using dimap in Kubuntu, since kde 3.4.0....

It is at this email message (id=13111) with a zip attachment that the error happens. All the messages newer than this one are not, therefore, downloaded from server...

I have my doubts that this will be fixed four years later ... if you have problems with a recent kmail version please report back
