Description Giovanni Venturi 2005-10-21 14:23:24 UTC
Version: 1.0 (using KDE 3.4.3, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13.2

Using as normal user. KSendFax can't send fax because into the log file it says that cannot access to /dev/modem because it has not the privileges as root. Why? I've got efax install. Does efax has to be suid?

Give write access to the modem device for your user. Use chmod from root.

Not a bug.
Comment 2 Giovanni Venturi 2005-10-22 19:03:53 UTC
Well KPPP can access to the /dev/modem device.
