How high, in pixels, is a 72pt font for you? Use kword and kruler to measure. "Ag" is about 65px. Using autocrop in Kolourpaint produces 67px for "Ag", 52px for "A" and 54px for "g". Do you wanna header that I set X -dpi 75? I consider the default value of 100dpi to produce too big fonts ... and then, I complain about small the small ones. :-) But nevertheless, I can't imagine that 8pt for the date font of the simple clock is enough. I didn't think of that fact. I'm going to try 100dpi and to report what changed. Yeah, I've asked a stupid question. The size in pixel is irrelevant for the discussion. I should have asked for the actual size. But, yeah, maybe 8pt is too small. Now, the current clock applet has been removed for the time being from KDE 4. Let's see what the default is when the new clock is introduced. I computed the real dpi value using (width / horizontal pixel number), leading to 102. KDE looks much better now with its default font sizes :-D, but in simple clock, the time still is too small. It would be nice if this could be set to 10-12pt for KDE 3.5, just to be able to show people how awesome KDE is :-). Kicker is no more mantained and all bugs/wishes will not be fixed/implemented in KDE3. A list of the most interesting/unresolved issues which is still valid for KDE4 has been created. Before reopening old kicker bugs on KDE4 Plasma, please try the new KDE 4.3.1, check the current behaviour and, only if you find new bugs or if you need a particular feature, open a new bug report. Remember that KDE 4 is a full rewrite of KDE 3 so some old features will not be re-implemented because the behaviour has be changed a lot on some sides. Thanks for the comprehension and enjoy the new KDE 4! -- FiNeX & D. Andres |
