With DigiKam 0.8.0-beta2, for exemple: 
 
- In Dates view or Searches view, select a date or a search which contains photos.
- Run the slideshow and check "Show all images in current album".
- A message "There are no images to show" is displayed on the screen.

=> I have this message in Konsole:

digikam: WARNING: [virtual KURL::List DigikamImageCollection::images()] kipiinterface::DigikamImageCollection::images:Unknown album type

=> On the contrary, the option "Show only selected images" works fine.
