Latest Commit: Version Fixed In: 7.1.0

Description Sebastian Bothe 2005-10-12 14:33:42 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

It would be a very nice Feature if digikam could use the information stored in Kontacts Calender.
Date and time stored in EXIF could be used to lookup a Calender entry, which holds a location field. This could be uses as a kind of "geo" Tag for images hold in digikam. So this may be used for example to create virtual Folders sortet by location.

Thanks for your attention

Isn't it a bit complicated? Current implementation of geolocalization with current (1.3) kipi-plugins should be enough for everyone ;)
Comment 2 Sebastian Bothe 2007-01-12 15:08:52 UTC
I don't know if implementation is difficult for the moment. The idea was just to make use of information that is already available somewhere.

Michael,

I let's you decide if this wish is realist or not to be implemented in digiKam...

There is no plan to depend of Akonady in the future.
