The permissions of the /dev/snd files are set by your operating system - this is normally done when a user logs in to a X session. The reason why your OS vendor has chosen to do so, is very likely security issues: For example if you have a microphone attached, another user could open the "microphone stream" and listen to you. I can only give you hints how to solve your problem. If it doesn't help, you have to ask your OS vendor or internet forums. Hints: Looking in the /etc/X11/xdm/ directory is a good start. My SuSE9.3 works different (uses an audio group), but there are other permission changes on Login handled: For example there is /etc/X11/xdm/GiveDevices , which handles the permission change of /dev/xconsole and /dev/tty0. KMix cannot override your system security, thus I'll close the bug report. Your answer is quite fine and i thank you. Selon Christian Esken <esken@kde.org>: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail] |
