Description Wolfgang 2005-10-07 18:33:54 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.3.5-20050130
OS: Linux

When dragging icons around in Konqueror (or on the desktop handled by konqueror), the
dashed outline of the icon leaves behind a trail of display garbage. This vanishes as
soon as the icon is released.

Reproducible:
On one PC it shows up always, on the other never. These differ _only_ in hardware.

First diagnostics:
First suspected a problem with radeon driver of xorg-6.8.2, but switching to vesa driver did not help.
(I use a ATI Radeon 9200 card on the problem-PC, and intel855GM on the problem-free one.
Using vesa driver fixed another problem: some dashed horizontal lines appeared in KDE-menu
and window titlebars)
No hints in xorg logfile.
Also, this only happens in Konqueror as far I can see.

Does this problem still occur in KDE 3.5?

Feedback timeout, but please reopen if the problem still exists with KDE 3.5
