If you want to go online with now away message, you have to first select "Set status", then "online" and finally "no message". It would be easier if you could just click on the "online" and that there will be no message set. 
The same goes for away and busy, but I find those less anoying.
Or maybe a button/menu item to go online with only 1 click.

It's just 1 small thing and I hope it is possible to do this.

Oh yes, I second this. There is no need for an "awaymessage" if one wants to go online and it would be really easy to save that click!

no.. not every protocol has no capability of onlinemessages (like icq)...
have a look at jabber :)

I think you misunderstood me. If I want to go online with all protocols you have to rightclick on kopete in the systray, then "Set Status" and then "online" and then "No Message". It would be easier if you could click on "online" and that there will be no away message set.
Every protocol supports no away message when you are online. But not every protocol support away messages while online, but that's not what I meant.

I can post a small screenshot to clarify if you want?

I also think this behavour should be changed.
I started thinking 'this is a bug; why set away messages when going online'
Why should away messages be set when going online at all ? shouldn't it be set when going away ?

In msn they are not really "away" messages. More informational messages that get used for everything (at least here we do so).

Maybe it is possible to split the messages part from the online/busy/away part, so if I go from online to busy or something I don't have to reselect the message but it stays as it was before?

I find it quite annoying that I can't just set my status to "away" or "online" without having to do the additional click on "no message" etc.. Is it an idea to make it a option in the kopete configuration whether you want this behaviour or not?

Where can I find it in the preferences? Or if the click on away should do the same as away > no message, when was it added to SVN, because it does not work for me with SVN about two days old.

This is along the same lines as the bug that is reported in 

 	 117288   	 severe usability degradation for going online

I just want to be able to click "online"  The "set status" doesn't do anything except lead to the options.  TOO MANY STEPS FOR ME!  :)
