I'm saying crash because I probably gonna have to kill it.

there is also tons of usuability issue IMHO.

I lunched kmail for a different user (using minicli with option feature)
So I get his kmail environment initialized.

forget about this beautiful welcome you get from that start... well, I did not have any mailbox account to setup and the interface did not let me choose no. So I choose to setup a "local mailbox" but I did not have any in /var/spool/mail, so I kept KDE's default (/home/user/inbox) and clicked Next.

right now, it's checking for "supported security capabilities" on this non-existing local mail account. for a good 20 minutes. but app is not frozen as GUI is refreshing... maybe simply waiting with a modal window so I can't do anything. well, I'm very curious about the kind of security capabilities you can find on a local account. anyway.... file/directory specified does not exist. so, nothing to check there.

actually, I've been able to press Finish or Cancel.
it's just weird the security message appeared and stayed on top.

well,.. Finish says "Could not read" which makes sens. Cancel got me where I wanted to go.

well, you can change this bug from crash to usuability bug, or close it if you think there is nothing wrong.

In kmail KDE4.3 on first startup you get an account wizard, which you can skip by clicking "Create Account Later".
So the initial problem no longer exists.
