SMTP requires a valid from address among other things and thats what the identity is for. But yes it should not delete emails I will agree with that. However I just tried it here wiht a new user and I cannot reproduce the issue you are seing with 3.5 branch. Hmm, perhaps I can try soon with 3.5 branch. Actually, there was an identity, but it had only a name, no email adress. And, the problem does happen if I do not save the email first in the concepts map. danny ok and that bug allowing an enpty email address in the ident has since been fixed, so this really boils down to why did it delete the email, I will investigate. The description is no longer reproducible with KDE 4.3.0 The mail composer is not closed in this way and the mail is not lost. |
