Description Rolf Offermanns 2005-09-30 11:49:08 UTC
Version: 1.1.2 (using KDE 3.4.2, Debian Package 4:3.4.2-4 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-1-686-smp

I have got a mail contact with an invalid "From: " header:

name, givenname <mail@domain.com>

Note, that the realname part is not quotet.

Now if I hit "Reply" kmail fills in two "To: " fields:
To: name
To: givenname <mail@domain.com>

This is annoying. While I do understand, that this is not a kmail problem, it would be great, if kmail would auto add the quotes in this special case, as interpreting a sender address as multiple addresses makes no sense to me.

What do you think?

Does this only happens when using mail in Kontact, or also in a standalone version of KMail? Please test. If this also occurs in a standalone version, the issue should be moved to KMail.

Moving to kmail for now, since it looks like a kmail issue.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
