I'm using Kubuntu, which is not in the "Installed from" menu. i can't reproduce this with 3.5 and i've been running with two trash applets for 2 days now and have stopped and started kicker multiple times in the intervening period. it really sounds like there is a modality being triggered and that kicker is blocked there in. but, as i said, i can't reproduce this. Can this be related to Artsd ? I've just found that Artsd doesn't work either - but for now, I can't be sure that it occurs each time. i doubt it's related to artsd in any way. both may point to a general problem with your installation or compilation (e.g. they didn't go smoothly / properly), but i can't see how arts and the panel buttons not working would be causally related in any way xavier: can you try the 3.5 betas and let me know if it is any better for you w/regards to this particular bug? thanks. I tried, with Kicker only (and dependencies) and then with the entire KDE desktop: still the same bug (it was on a completely new Kubuntu install, on a different computer, nothing coming from my particular desktop). I've test kde 3.5 beta 2 packages from Kubuntu breezy, on a completely new computer: the bug is still here. thanks for the follow up. trash applet doesn't exist on KDE4. This bug report is about kicker in kde3 |
