Bug 112941

Suse 9.3 box running on a Duron processor. 
Valgrind 2.4.1 runs smoothly on a C application compiled with gcc-3.3.5 
and the sole options -g -O0. 
For the same application, Valgrind 3.0.1 stops abruptly with the following :
