This is indeed a chore. Also, selecting some already-displayed text and then hitting reply does not copy just that text into the reply as it does with non-attachment messages; the entire message is downloaded and then the attachments are dumped as described above. Yes, I'm seeing this too (KMail-1.8.3) and was about to enter a new bug report... Yes, I also find this annoying. yes, i have the same problems. When i get a mail with a big attachment Kmail has problems. Not only when i want to reply, also when i try to delete this mail? I guess it is not necessary to download the attachment when i want to delete a message. > I guess it is not necessary to download the attachment when

Actually, when the deletions go to your local Trash (as they do by default, I think), it is necessary...
If you want to dispatch them completely, hold Shift, while pressing Delete.
In this particular case KMail is doing the right thing, I think... But it is wrong in others :-(
Yup.. happening to me too... Extremely annoying. This has to be an easy fix... yet this bug is one year old... and still unconfirmed!?! I'm running KMail 1.9.4 (Kubuntu Dapper). *** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. *** |
