This happened because the preferred signing key had not been set in the news server or group properties. However it was set in global properties. Why wasn't that enough? From https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86070#c3 "Use the innermost non-empty identity completly instead of merging the group, account and global identity in case of empty fields." So this is the intended behaviour |
