Description Raymond Lewis Rebbeck 2005-09-03 01:35:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

It would be nice to see automated demos of KDE features in order to help new users get accustomed to KDE and learn about more of it's features and capabilities.

What I had in mind, are 'demonstration' buttons for the 'tip of the day' thing, that can automatically demonstrate features with helpful dialog boxes and what not explaining what is happening, or a screensaver that randomly demonstrates random features.

There are many possibilities and I think it would be a very interesting and helpful feature.

We (the docs team) agree. Rainer Endres has been working for a while on tools to 'record' the screen so that such demos can be made. You can see examples on http://features.physos.net . If you're interested in helping out, get in touch with kde-doc-english@kde.org, me or Rainer (endres at kde dot org) - we could really use the extra help!
