are the images in a read only directory tree? Is there a digikam3.db file in the Album library path? more questions: How did you assign the tag? Are you sure the tag got properly assigned, i.e does it show up under the thumbnail of the item? Are there error messages on a konsole, if you run digikam from it? First question: no. My whole collection is on an USB disk with right read/write permissions. Second: just I select "assign to a tag (my free translation from my spanish language)", and yes, I can see the new tag below the image. The same tag appears on the "tag browser" (clicking on the tab on the left side of the app window), but none images are inside the tag album. Can you apply the following patch and then rebuild digikam? It doesn't do
anything substantial than just trying to find what the exact error was when you
tried to list images from a tag.
Also if it would be possible for you to email me (by private email) the
digikam3.db file in your Album Library Path, it will help in finding the
problem more easily.

looks like you have digikam 0.7.x also installed at the same time (or digikamtags kioslave from a previous 0.7.x installation left behind). Your 0.8 installation of digikam is calling the 0.7.x version of digikamtags kioslave which is causing the breakage.
You're right. I've found old libs on /usr/lib/kde3 instead /usr/kde/3.4/lib (gentoo default). After removing them, all seems to be fine now. Sorry for any inconvenience. It was my fault. I have to be more careful. Thanks. Problem not reproducible since digiKam 5.0.0 as all KIO slave have been replaced by a multithreaded interface to query the database. |
