I just started using IMAP in kmail, and everytime I did pretty much anything to IMAP-folders kmail would freeze and read like crazy from the harddrive for several seconds.

It turned out that I had a Last Search in my folders, and everytime I did something to my IMAP-folders, the Last Search was repeated. Since that search was through all my old mail (ca 30000 locally stored emails), kmail froze while doing the search. After removing the Last Search, everything is now snappy.

My guess is that Last Search gets updated when IMAP-folders are. IMHO, this is a bug.

I tried again, just before finishing the report, and now I can't reproduce it. The Last Search that caused the problem was done before I had any IMAP-folders. After doing a new search, the problem isn't there anymore. I'll finish the report, but close it directly, in case this will help someone else.
