here that works, can somebody reproduce the problem? And, are you talking about switching the documents via alt-* or switching the tabs? Ops, some days latter I found the problem, I forgot to report back, sorry. I was trying to reprogram the "Next Tab" and "Previous Tab" functionality, or the equivalent to change to the next/previous "working" document, as in other programs (konsole, konqueror). But that functionality is mapped to "Forward" and "Back" shortcut keys in kate. It seems an inconsistency for me, or I might have misunderstood the concept.
