Description Matthew Harker 2005-08-21 16:03:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.4.4
OS: Linux

When loading up my livejournal friend's page in Konqueror, CPU usage spikes for however long I am on that page. Furthermore, it only happens when i'm on my friends page. On my normal livejournal page, there is no CPU spike. If I visit another person's LJ, or their friends page, then there is no CPU spike there (However I can't actually find anyone else on my friends list using the same style as I am). However if I go to my friends page, then usage for X (Not konqueror bizarrely) shoots up to about 50% CPU. This only happens with konqueror furthermore. Firefox doesn't replicate the same error.

A link for testing is given:

This bug has been pervasive since KDE 3.3.

Many thanks,
Matthew Harker.

I can confirm this. When i load http://www.livejournal.com/users/bokunenjin/91380.html with Konqueror, my Xorg process spikes the CPU. I'm using KDE 3.5 on Debian unstable.

It also occurs when i load http://www.livejournal.com/users/bokunenjin/
When i close the window, the CPU returns to normal.

The link posted above doesn't cause a huge problem for me.
