Description Martin Fernau 2005-08-18 14:21:17 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

it seems, that amarok 1.3 don't save the passwords for radio streams in the "Radio Streams"-PlayList (on the left Navigation-Bar).
If I add a new entry like http://username:password@www.domain.tld:port amarok just save http://username@www.domain.tld:port and loose the password. Thus, the stream won't play.

However, if I use a pls-File with a pre defined url containing username and password all is working fine

I would like to investigate this problem. Do you know any free password protected stream for testing?
Comment 2 Martin Fernau 2006-03-22 10:48:33 UTC
Sorry, I only use di.fm which is a payed stream.

However, if you really need an account but can't find a free stream for your tests I can donate an account there for a few days. Please contact me via mail for this if you're interested.

Thanks, I don't think this will be necessary. There are some free streams, I'm gonna find one.

Good news, Flameeyes from Gentoo has fixed the stream auth problem in xine-lib. Patch is already in portage, and will hopefully be in xine-lib 1.1.2. See this blog:
