Version:           1.3.1 (using KDE 3.2.1, SuSE)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)
OS:                Linux (i586) release 2.6.5-7.155.29-default

How to Reproduce:
- Open a normal Konsole Window
- tip "suspend"
------------------------------
now the konsole crashs

You are using a VERY old version of Konsole.  It works in Konsole 1.6/KDE 3.5.

I have no way of even running KDE 3.2.x.  Reopen if you can reproduce using KDE 3.4.x or 3.5.x
