Since it will take some time before UPnP is implemented, I think this deserves some attention.

I think that it would be useful to implement the ability to test if the port which KTorrent is configured to use is forwarded properly. Experienced users know the way to Settings -> Configure KTorrent... -> Port and know why they should forward it, but inexperienced users don't. So, when KTorrent is started for the first time, let a window pop up and give the user the possibility to test if the port is forwarded properly, and explain why they should have their port forwarded. And tell them how they can forward the port (just tell them to read their router's documentation).

I think this is quite essential for people who have no understanding of bittorrent and are behind a router or firewall. For an example see Azureus' NAT/Firewall Test option.

Like I said in the UPnP feature request : I don't have a router, so this may take a while.
