Have you ever considered to open a saved search folder and then type "S" (Tools -> Find Messages ...)? You can have complex filter constructs saved this way. Changing some variables is fairly easy, isn't it? actually in the KMail Version I have here (KDE 3.3.2) the search criteria come up empty if one doesn't specify anything for the strings to search, so that distracted me from using it. If one enters some dummy input there the criteria come back OK, if one invokes the Search in Folders function. e.g. "Subject" contains "" -> dialog comes back with: "" contains "" "Subject" contains "a" -> dialog comes back with "Subject" contains "a" Is that problem known/fixed? Does this possibility invalidate my original request (remember last settings used)? I don't think so, but I'll leave that up to the maintainers. Both are useful and requires minimal knowledge from the user point.
