The desktop icon for the Shredder looks like a half-shredded document.  This makes it less apparent that one should drag files onto it (like they do the Trash).  An icon of a shredder with a transparent bin (similar to how the Crystal iconset's Trash looks) with a document half in (shredded) and half out (unshredded) would make the most sense.  I'll try to mock something up real quick, based on the Crystal Trash.
