Please, add option to log nickname history from my contacts (like in the plugin NickChangeNotify for Miranda IM on Windows).

should this bug be under the history plugin component?

Don't think so. History plugin is really log history... 
Maybe in statistics plugin ? or its own plugin ?

You can also use KNotify and store the notifications in some text file.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
