If I close kopete when I'm away and then reopen it, the icon for define state on toolbar is away, but the protocols (I use ICQ and MSN) are online, not away, and the toolbar icon on kicker is online and not way also.

Basically, kopete should remember the state of the lastsession, and on reopening return not to just online, but for the previous state.
