Sentry Crash Report:

Description SGC 2005-06-27 23:35:24 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.4.1, Kubuntu Package 4:3.4.1-0ubuntu0hoary1 ())
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8ubuntu2)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-5-386

Knewstuss should asks the user if he wants to replace his current wallpaper with the new installed one when the installation (download) complete.

The dialog box can have "Remeber my answer" checkbox so the answer is always Yes or always No

In my opinion it should just change it.

The reason it doesn't is there's no easy way for knewstuff to signal back that is has downloaded a file.

It is easy to asked for the installed file(s) now. This is something for plasma people to handle.

@Plasma people: Let me know if you need help with implementing it.

I just wanted to add a bugreport for the same feature. Is anyone working on it or might have time to implement the function? It would be one small button that makes a huge difference in usebility.

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
