Description Gioele Barabucci 2005-06-23 13:55:50 UTC
Version: 0.4.1 (using KDE 3.4.1, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.4 (Gentoo 3.4.4, ssp-3.4.4-1.0, pie-8.7.8)
OS: Linux (ppc) release 2.6.11-gentoo-r6

A very little bug

Try this:
* load an A4 PDF
* set zoom to "fit page"

the page is vertically and horizontally centered

* press 'space' to advance page

now the page is no longer vertically centered, it is pushed to the bottom of the screen and an empty space is left on top.

Can you attach a coupole of screenshots to this bug (pre and post the operation you describe) to better show the problem?
I'd like to solve it.
Thanks a lot.

KPDF 0.5.5 (Using KDE 3.5.9)

I've seen this too.

The PageDown and PageUp keys are really "next screen" and "previous screen", not "next page" / "previous page". You can see this if you set magnification to 10% so that you see many pages at once, and press the PageDown key -- you go to the next screen, i.e. the next set of pages viewable in the window. But if you choose "Go -> Next Page" from the menu, you go to the actual next page, regardless of how many pages you can see in the window -- the window only scrolls a little bit.

Workaround: I went to the Shortcuts dialog and bound Ctrl-PageDown to Next Page, and Ctrl-PageUp to Previous Page, and now I can do both.

I still consider this a bug: if your window is big enough that you select "fit page" and you see only one page, and especially if you widen the window and you just get wider margins on the side (indicating that it *really is* as tall as can get), and you press PageDown (i.e. "next screen"), it should scroll exactly one page.

Clumsy manual workaround: I've found that in many (but not all) situations, if I subtract 0.8% from the view magnification, then Page Down ("next screen") works like "Ctrl-PageDown" ("next page").

Thank you for your bug report or feature suggestion.

The "KPDF" application is no longer maintained, and all tickets are now closed.

We recommend to switch to the "Okular" application.

Due to the high number of bugs/suggestions in "KPDF" we are not able to go through all of them and verify if they are still valid in "Okular".

That's why are we asking you to help us by checking if your bug/suggestion is still valid in Okular and if it still is opening a new bug/suggestion against it.

Thank you for your effort in making KDE better :)
