Description meldroc 2005-06-14 06:51:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
OS: Linux

I would like KDE in general to be able to support mice with extra mouse buttons, such as those found on the Intellimouse Explorer or Razer Diamondback. Right now, the only way to set up support for extra mouse buttons is to use imwheel, which is a royal pain to set up, and is somewhat flaky. Extra buttons could be used for quite a few things. For example, two thumb buttons could be configured to the Back and Forward functions in Konqueror. You could also have them minimize, maximize, shade or close windows. Some mice have two-dimensional scrolling - they have little joystick-like devices in place of the wheel that can scroll side-to-side as well as up and down.

Basically, some KDE-native support for extra mouse buttons would be very useful.
