- In fact, the nickname is actually recorded in the history file. But it is not displayed in the history viewer. This might change.

- Well, you've used MSN to much. The nickname is just a name and is not supposed to change so often. Later, even with MSN, there are plans to use the status message for that (which is not saved in the history)
what it's *supposed* to be for has very little to do with what people actually use it for. :) I'd like this feature added too... actually, I'd like a lot of changes to the history thing. but sleep is more important right now Well, to be honest I hate it when people on MSN always change their names and pictures and I am glad that in Kopete I can force a name and picture. If this is changed then only if the user wants it. I for one prefer it the way it is now. So maybe if you set "use the name given by the server" in properties only then save the name in the history, if this option is not set simply use the name of the meta contact that I chose. But I don't know if it's possible for the plugin to get what is set in the contact properties, just an idea. |
