Description Pedro Venda 2005-06-07 21:16:56 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.4.3-20050110 (Gentoo Linux 3.4.3.20050110-r2, ssp-3.4.3.20050110-0, pie-8.7.7)
forced version 3.4 because of centrino support
OS: Linux

I've been doing a very short presentation (in portuguese) and for compatibility purposes, I intend to show it from PDF form.

Since I'm a happy linux+kde user, I soon noticed that kpdf didn't show my pictures well. xpdf does the same thing, so this could be an upstream bug. (kpdf uses xpdf engine, right?)

kpdf doesn't crash, so no backtrace. Tried on other computers and result is simillar, so reproduction is trivial. Expected behaviour... well kpdf should render the image with the transparent background.

All images have transparent backgrounds and none of them shows up well. The images are transparent background PNGs created by gimp-2.2. Openoffice 2.0 beta (1.9.104) built the pdf, both acroread 5 and 7 display the pdf correctly.

I've found simillar bugs reported but none of them duplicate (AFAIK). I can post some of the images too if necessary. I'll start by attaching the PDF for now.

thanks for your time.
