ok, let's generalize this: - scheduled shutdowns are already supported by kdm. we'd just make ksmserver use them properly and/or make them more accessible in kdm (shutdown profiles, maybe). - in the last seconds before the shutdown, a countdown should be shown on all active displays. KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5. SDDM is the login manager used in KDE Plasma 5.
