Description Jake Hawkes 2005-05-09 21:18:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I filled in the settings in the "Local Network Browsing" section, in particular, the default username, password and workgroup for the samba client.

then I browse to smb:\\server\share and I get prompted for username password.

I enter my username and password, and that fails too. I enter for my username "workgroup\username", something I rememberd from my MS admin days, and it works. Great!

Ecept, then I browse to \\anotherserver\anothershare and I have to enter my credentials all over again.

kio_smb should be using the credentials entered in the config utility.

I agree. kio_smb should use the credentials entered in the config utility.

KDE 3 is no longer maintained. Feel free to reopen the ticket if the problem is still applicable in the current stable KDE 4 version. Thank you for your report.
