Description Tristan Miller 2005-05-08 22:23:15 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

KMail currently supports only the disposition-type and filename parameters from RFC 2183. Please also add support for the other parameters, which send important file metadata (creation time, last modification time, last access time, etc.). Currently the only way to send file metadata along with an attachment is to archive it in some format which stores said metadata (e.g., GNU tar).

Confirming feature still missing in KDE 4.2.2.
Comment 2 Bernd Oliver Sünderhauf 2012-01-17 09:50:31 UTC
Just as Thunderbird does, KMail supports these parameters:
  Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="xyz.png"
  Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
  Content-Type: image/png; name="xyz.png"

Browsing my inbox, I found a mail that specifies a
  Content-Length: 49655
header for attachments.
It might be a good idea to add this one for all attachments.

However, adding creation time etc. might pose privacy risks as the sender doesn't expect this data to be included. So if support is added, it should only be optional.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
Comment 5 Tristan Miller 2016-08-17 13:53:45 UTC
Confirming feature request is still valid for KMail2 (4.14.10).
