Description Rafael J. Wysocki 2005-05-04 23:05:28 UTC
Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: N/A 64-bit (AMD64)
OS: Linux

Konqueror 3.4.0 does not handle the SFTP protocol correctly. When I type an SFTP URL into the Konqueror location bar, it properly asks for the password and establishes a TCP connection to the remote host, but then it apparently stays in the "busy" state forever and does not display anything. If it is stopped manually (eg by pushing the "Stop loading the document" button) and I try to connect to the same remote host again, it displays the following error message:

Error. Out of memory.
Could not allocate memory for SFTP packet.

I have tested it with many different addresses, including "localhost", and various authentication methods. It does not appear to work in any conditions.

Please advise,
Rafael
