Version:           3.4.0 (using KDE 3.4.0, Debian Package 4:3.4.0-0ubuntu3 (3.1))
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8ubuntu2)
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.10

When I try to connect to another machine using stfp://, konqueror asks me for a username and password, and after I enter the information and press OK, the status bar says "Opening connection to . . ." and the animated logo spins indefinitely. I have tried connecting to several different machines, all of which I can connect to via sftp on the command line.

Can you try the patch posted in http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102103 and see if it fixes your problem ?
