Can you tell us what gets logged to your ~/.xsession-errors when this message appears? Do you have kio_pop3.la and kio_pop3.so in your system anyways? Thank you for quick answer.
As far as files kio_pop3 I have got both of them:
/opt/kde/lib/kde3/kio_pop3.la
/opt/kde/lib/kde3/kio_pop3.so
As far as ~/.xsession-errors. Below I copied whole this file. There is one line
referring do Klibrary. What do you think about it?
Thanks
stderr is not a tty - where are you?

Few minutes ago I solved problem. On Usenet: alt.pl.comp.os.slackware one man suggested to install cyrus-sasl-2.1.20-i4861jim.tgz. It helped ! Thank you Hi i'm in the same situation but this solution dosen't solved my problem. I'm whit slackware current (10.1 +) and i've upgraded to kde 3.4.0 on i386 machine. After that i've tried to use kmail and i've got this: kmail: ERROR: : couldn't create slave : Impossibile creare un io-slave: klauncher ha detto: Protocollo "pop3" sconosciuto. I've tried to install cyrus-sasl-2.1.20-i486-2stb.tgz finded on linux packages but dosen't helped. I've reinstalled also kdebase kdenetwork kdelibs and kde-i18n-it from the site of kde and not whit swaret but the problem is unchanged. Thanks for help *** Bug 104947 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I was the same situations, and i installed cyrus-sasl packanges and that helped: swaret --install cyrus-sasl swaret 1.6.2-1 Wyświetlanie dostępnych pakietów pasujących do wyrażenia: cyrus-sasl... cyrus-sasl-2.1.20-i486-1 (502 kB) Instaluj cyrus-sasl-2.1.20-i486-1?
