Description Henryk Hecht 2005-04-16 02:55:27 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Starting I believe in KDE 3.4, archives of various types are displayed as directories in the navigation pane of the file managment view, as is the case for recent versions of windows. Some users, myself included, find this feature inconvenient as it can lead to very cluttered listings and UI-wise it's sort of a mixed metaphor. It would be nice to be able to disable this feature. In windows, there is a magical incantation to get rid of it that involves unregistering the DLL that handles the magic. Maybe in KDE a simple user preference would be possible?
