Description Roman Fietze 2005-04-11 10:49:43 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

The pop up menu for a printer (right mouse) shows different entries depending on the state or setup of the printer the pop up is reffering to. Most GUI style guides recommend or require to always show all possible menu items and just grey out the one's currently not selectable or already set.

I was searching for the menu item selecting a printer as the user's default printer and "accidently" selected the printer already selected as the user's default, never finding this menu item. I wasn't very confused, because I'm not new to KDE, KDE printing or computers with GUIs in general, but our new colleague not yet used to those setups was confused. He would not have been confused if the recommendation would have been considered.
