Untranslatable phrases
Fixed for KDE4 (and I think even KDE3, just there aren't any translations). If I remember correctly translations were added to the desktpo_kdebase.po and at least Estonian team has translated them (http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=658101 of April, 25) but are they really used? As screenshot shows they're not... Or is it packager fault (I use Mandriva cooker)? Actually, there are translations even for KDE3 (/opt/kde3/share/apps/khotkeys), however these files are merged into the main khotkeys config the first time they're encountered. Since these files were originally untranslated, you got the English texts merged in, with a new user account it should work. Well, it seems it is not fixed or, at least, not properly foxed. Look at Mandriva bugs 11881 (http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=11881) and 17933 (http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17933): at least three people are confirming the bug still exists, one of them sees same bug in Gentoo. Still valid... (especially hateful is that french phrase... :-) ) Any hope it'll be fixed in proper way? (Meantime, I've made even totally new installation and the bug is still there, including weird French phrase...) I can confirm the problem still persists in kde-3.5.7 (In kcontrol -> region & accessibility -> input actions there is a french item even if the rest are in English). still valid on kde 3.5.9 Still valid on KDE 4.3.x Still valid. There is no more French entry but names of categories and actions as well descriptions of actions are in English (even if they are translated in PO-file). Can this be fixed for 4.4.1 please? This is very bad for non English speakers! These are OTT's (One Time Translations) generated on the first run in the actual locale. To get rid of them you have to delete share/config/khotkeysrc, but then you loose all your changes there. Where is the affected module in KDE 4.8 System Settings? Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved. This bug seems to be fixed. I have tested it using a new account, and all the presets were shown as translated. |
