I am running KDE 3.3.2 with my PII 400MHz laptop. I do seldomly log out but suspend - so my KDE is no in use for 36 hours.

With the time, konsole gets unuseable. I work with 10 tabs and transparent background, fullscreen, and switching tabs takes more than four seconds. But even closing konsole and restart it, only using two tabs and "standard console" color scheme, it takes more than 2 seconds to switch tabs. Konsole is the only program with this problem. Running xterm is fairly normal. The exciting phenomen: even running konsole from a remote host (i ssh into a server and fire up konsole) does not improve the situation - the remote Konsole is as slow as the local- i have no clue, how to get rid of this problem.
Of course, my machine is not under load and has enough of memory. I assume a problem with the X-Server, but konsole is the only program, shoing this problem. Running a top within konsole results in 100% CPU usage of X (drops down to 20% within a few seconds). I use

The only way to get the system usable again, is to restart kde (which results in a restart of the X-Server). Any hints, how to track this down?
