Description Sebastien 2005-03-29 17:43:42 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)

Use-case:
- I'm searching for a mail, via the filter line, find it and begin to read the message.
- Now, a new mail arrive in another folder, I was waiting for it and it is important: I switch to this folder and read the short but important mail.
- Then, I go back to the previous folder to continue my reading of the long mail...
- What? The live filter is now empty (I can see ALL my mails) and the message view has silently scrolled back to the begin of the mail. I should remember and scroll to where I was previously!

My wish: switching folders and going back to the previous one should remember vertical scroll position in the current mail (or restore it and keep the filter and other states.

Because, in real life, when you leave a paper on your desktop to take a cup of cafee, when you go back it still is at the place you left it!

When you clear the search field, the message list scrolls back to the top. I think this is the bug.

It should probably center on the selected message.

I don't think keeping search filters activated is a good idea. KMail used to do that during the 1.7.9x phase and personally, I found that annoying.

IMHO the "status" after entering a folder should be configurable. Now it's always the complete list, which is displayed.

I personally would find it usefull to "hide" read and "not improtant" messages.
